Our Story

UnplugVR was born from a challenge. During the 2020 global lockdown, as students and teachers were forced apart, a critical gap in engagement and immersive learning emerged.

It was in this moment of disconnect that our co-founder and CTO, Chimdinma Nzeakor, envisioned a new kind of connection. The idea was simple yet powerful: use virtual reality to unplug students from passive screens and plug them into active, collaborative, and captivating educational worlds.

What began as a solution to a pandemic-era problem quickly evolved into a global mission. After initial development, we moved our base to North East England, where we continued to build and refine our platform.

Since 2022, we've proven our concept through successful pilots across 13 schools in Nigeria, receiving invaluable feedback from students and educators. This is just the beginning. We are now poised to implement our technology in schools across the North East of England, on our way to reshaping how education is absorbed across the UK, Africa, and the rest of the world.
